NaCl (Sodium Chloride), KCl (Potassium Chloride), KBr (Potassium Bromide), and CsI (Cesium Iodide) are all optical crystals that have applications in various scientific and technological fields.

NaCl, KCl, KBr, and CsI are all alkali halide crystals that have a face-centered cubic crystal structure. They are ionic compounds consisting of metal cations (Na+, K+, Cs+) and halide anions (Cl-, Br-, I-) arranged in a face-centered cubic lattice.

These crystals are all transparent in the infrared (IR) and visible ranges, making them useful for optical components such as windows, lenses, and prisms. They also have high refractive indices, making them useful for optical components that require strong refractive properties.

In addition, these crystals have scintillation properties, making them useful as radiation detectors in various fields such as medical imaging, nuclear physics, and high-energy physics. CsI, in particular, is a popular scintillation material due to its high light yield and fast decay time.
